One of our rest stops. |
We drove home yesterday from our vacation. The original plan was to do another sightseeing stop on the way home, but the weather convinced us otherwise. The first four hours of the trip were in cold rain and fog before letting up to light rain. And after about an hour into the trip, our minds had switched out of vacation mode into home mode - meaning we had stopped thinking about hikes and ice cream shops and started thinking about what we left undone at work and the chores waiting for us. Also, we missed our purring, demanding cats. So other than bathroom breaks, we powered through the trip without stops until we were home.
We've emptied our suitcases, done the laundry, and gone through the mail. And now we have to deal with the annoyances of everyday life. For example, within the last week, Wally, Theo, and Ward and I have all had our credit cards compromised. We wonder what's going on. Is credit card theft so prevalent that this is just a coincidence? Or are we all in some database that was compromised? Whatever the case, it's a big hassle.
And on that cheery note,
Until next time...
There is that adage, there is no place like home! What a hassle through with the credit cards. Hackers and scammers seem to be on the rise these days! It did seem like a nice trip you all took!

It was a nice trip, but its always good to be home. I think there's a reason for the saying.
DeleteGlad you made it home safely, especially with all that rain and fog during the drive! So sorry to hear about the credit cards being compromised! Hope it can be cleared up quickly! I bet the kitties were happy to have you home again!
ReplyDeleteAs good as the weather was for the vacation, it was as bad for the drive home. Of course, that was a minor inconvenience compared to the serious weather events people are suffering from.
DeleteI'm glad you made it home safe and sound. But what a let down to find out about your credit cards. I went through that again just this week (yes, after going through it a month ago). I hope you can all get it resolved quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe credit card companies are pretty good about handling these things. Unfortunately, I think they have lots of practice.
DeleteSounds more like some data base you are all on that got hacked.
ReplyDeleteThat's the most logical explanation.
DeleteOh no! I'm sorry to hear about your credit card problems. It kinda takes away from the fun of a vacation. Hope it gets resolved soon.
ReplyDeleteWe have our new card now and are starting the long process of changing our numbers in various places. I don't know the status of Wally and Theo's cards. As another welcome home present, we found a leak in one of the bathrooms. It's one we don't use often and it has had water in it long enough to grow mold and warp the wood. However, we can't seem to figure out where the leak is coming from. We'd like to have an idea before we call the plumber. Luckily, we have other bathrooms to use.
DeleteUgh, you've had a lot to deal with. Don't you hate mysterious leaks?
DeleteWe found standing water, but after we cleaned it up, we couldn't get anything around the sink to leak. We turned on everything in the bathroom and adjacent laundry room and couldn't find anything.
DeleteOh that sucks after such a lovely vacation. Hope you get it all sorted out quick.
ReplyDeleteMe, too.
