Good busy

We are a little behind with our Christmas decorations,
but we did manage to get a wreath hung
on the inside of the front door.

You may remember that I told you about a very strange interview that I went on at the end of May. Well, several months later, I have gotten the new position. Hurray! However, I have a lot of training and schooling to go through now. It started this week and has me pretty busy. Also, it is, unfortunately, interfering with the schedule I had for several holiday things. This busy time of the year has just gotten busier.

I will try to keep posting here and reading your posts, but we'll see how it goes. I am going to be busy. But a good busy.

  1. Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing more about your new position. I bet it was an ego boost to get the job. What a busy time of year to start a new job, though. I did that at my last job (20 years ago!)--it was combined with a move to be close to my fiance--so between moving, starting a new position and planning a wedding, I felt a little overwhelmed. I didn't bother putting up a Christmas tree that year although I did set out a few decorations. Take your time getting settled in and we will all understand if you don't have time to do much posting this month.

    1. Your moving story has a lot of similarities to one I had years ago. As soon as I graduated, we got married, and moved many states away where I started my first real job. And then when we had our first son, we changed cities and started a new job. When he was three weeks old, we went house hunting. Trying to find a new house, sell an old house, with a newborn was overwhelming. We stayed in an apartment with our things in storage until we could move into our new house. However, I had a couple more months of maternity leave before I had to start my new job.

The reason I'm telling you this is to remind myself that this change is pretty easy compared to some I've done in the past. However, I'm looking forward to when I have a regular schedule that I can start getting used to.

    2. Oh, goodness, doing what you did with a baby is way more overwhelming than anything I've gone through! Like you, sometimes I remind myself that I've gotten through challenging situations before and that things will improve if I just take it step by step.

  3. Congratulations! They certainly took their time hiring, but, they found the best for the job in you, I'm sure. :) That is a gorgeous wreath, by the way. Just do what you can in terms of decorating, etc. You know that Christmas will still come and be special even without decorations. Post when you can and I wish you all the blessings of a lovely holiday season and a new job!

    1. I interviewed to be put on a hiring list. There were several positions that they were hiring for and I wasn't on the top of the list so I didn't get hired right away. (But I did get one offer that was too far away to consider. Because of the commute, I declined). However, the wait was worth it because I got exactly the location and position I wanted. Like the say, timing is everything.

I won that wreath as a door prize at a class I went to on tying bows. The instructor made it. I don't remember any tips about bows except use ribbon with wire edging because it will do almost anything you want it to. However, the wreath has gotten displayed for many years now.
