I am thankful Ward is home.
As many of you know, Ward was gone for the last week or so on a backpacking trip in the back country of Yellowstone National Park. While I enjoyed my time alone, I am very happy he's back. Below are a few pictures from his trip where he saw mountains, meadows, waterfalls, geysers, lakes, and bubbling streams.
Beautiful! Yellowstone is definitely on my bucket list (when kids are a little older :) Why didn't you go with him?
ReplyDeleteWhile I enjoy hiking, I don't enjoy backpacking. A couple of years ago he did a backpacking trip in the Tetons and I went out when he finished. Afterwards, we had a nice time in Yellowstone and the Tetons. However, this year my husband couldn't get any more time off from work to stay any longer than he did.
DeleteAmazing pictures. We plan to do a Yellowstone/Mt Rushmore trip sometime in the next few years w/our kids. I've never been to Yellowstone and am looking forward to it. Glad Ward had a great time and is safely home again.
ReplyDeleteI want to go to Mt. Rushmore sometime also. A couple of years ago, I decided that I needed to see more of the "icons" of this country. That year we visited Niagara Falls. A couple of years later, I saw Old Faithful in Yellowstone. I'm not sure what else is on my list, but I know Mt. Rushmore is.
DeleteI've been to North and South Dakota and have seen most of the major attractions there, but I want my children to see it, also. I'd also like to see the Grand Tetons but I'm not sure if that would be too much to do in one trip--I have found that sometimes vacations are more enjoyable when you don't try to cram too much in at once. At this point, we are thinking that Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone is probably enough for one vacation, but maybe we will rethink it.
DeleteI love travel and would enjoy exposing my family to all sorts of fun places. We had a family wedding to attend in Indiana this year so after that we went to St. Louis before we went on to my in-law's in Illinois. It was nice to be able to see a major landmark and that it fit in well with travel primarily intended for family activities.
The arch is also on my list of things I want to see. Yellowstone is a huge place, but depending on where you want to see things, it's easy to spend a little time in the Grand Tetons while you're there. That's what we did.
DeleteIt looks beautiful and very different to the scenery we get here :) I'd love to do some hiking in the US.
ReplyDeleteLike Australia, the US is a very large country with a lot of different kinds of scenery. The scenery in the Yellowstone area is nothing like I see day to day either.
