Tomorrow, Ward, Wally, Theo, and I are going on our annual family trip. This time we're going to the Poconos for the week. We have a few things in mind to do, but per usual, we will play it by ear. I will check in here if I have time and internet. If not, I'll catch up with you again when we get back.
And not related to the trip, I'm going to leave you with a few flower pictures from the yard.
 |
| I just love the color of these beauty berries. |
 |
| This flower bed will probably go away when we get the drainage fixed around Ward's shop. |
 |
| I never got around to pulling the spent pepper vines; lucky me, because they are producing again. 😊 |
 |
| The weather is playing tricks, and the lilac bush is blooming. |
 |
| ...as is the apple tree. |
 |
| Instead of a pink tint, this rose bloomed with pink polka dots. |
 |
| These mums are in full bloom... |
 |
| And these are on their way... |
 |
| As are these. |
 |
| A volunteer. |
 |
| This iris blooms in both the spring and the fall. |
Well, I'd better get back to packing.
Lilacs in October? That's crazy! You have lots of pretty things in your yard. Travel safely!
ReplyDeleteAll of the leaves on that lilac tree turned brown early and fell off. Maybe it's blooming to save itself?
DeleteEnjoy your trip to the Poconos. My family used to go there a lot when I was a kid! I enjoyed all your photos - the flowers are so pretty and crazy that the lilacs are blooming again. My friend told me hers are blooming too.
ReplyDeleteI've driven through the Poconos on my way to Maine, but I've never spent time there. I'm looking forward to it.
DeleteYour garden is definitely blooming! Love the beauty berries and the chrysanthemums. Have a wonderful family vacation!
ReplyDeleteI was very excited when my friend gave me two beautyberry bushes because I've always admired them. I have one more color of chrysanthemums to bloom. I think it's pink.
DeleteSafe travels and have a wonderful time in the Poconos! I bet the leaves will be beautiful. We went to the Adirondacks last fall and it was lovely. So many lakes, and a train trip and dinner cruise were fun
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous. Love the variety and colors.
While I have visited the Finger Lakes in NY, I haven’t spent any time in the Adirondacks. Maybe that will be next year’s vacation.
DeleteIts like 2nd summer or 2nd spring. My forsythia suddenly burst out blooming, just a few blooms however. Have fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteOur forsythia have not joined the lilac bush. They are still flowerless.
DeleteLots still in bloom at your house!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever made jam or jelly from the beauty bush berries? Apparently people do.
Have a great trip!
I have never made jam from them. I didn’t know you could. I leave the berries for the birds, but maybe I should snag a few for myself.
DeleteBeautiful! Don't you just love welcome volunteers sprouting in the yard? Be well, my dear.
ReplyDeleteVolunteers are usually the healthiest, too!
DeleteThese are lovely flowers. I love seeing flowers even just in pictures - something about them that cheers me up.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Flowers make me happy too!🌺🌹🌸🌻🌼
