Ward and I are in Texas on vacation where we are visiting with friends and being tourists. The days have been full, but good. I'll see what I have time to squeeze in here before it's time for bed.
Travel Day and Gardens

At the gardens, the daffodils were done and the pansies and tulips were almost done blooming. It was interesting to compare that to the almost flowerless Maryland that we left.

This frog fountain was blocked off or I'm sure there would have been people in it to cool off.

Even the tunnel from the parking garage to the gardens was colorful.
After a few hours, the heat was starting to get the best of us, so we headed back to C and M's house for more catching up and a great meal that C prepared.
Today was another busy day of travel and sightseeing as we made our way from Dallas to Houston. Next, time I will share with you what we found along the way.
Until next time...

In the 90's? Wow!
ReplyDeleteYep, and we felt every bit of it. We saw a wedding going on and I felt very sorry for for the men who were in navy blue 3 piece suits.
DeleteGlad you arrived safely without too much delay at the airport. Love the garden pictures. Ugh 90's.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens were huge, and we saw most of them. However, because of the heat, I didn’t study the plants as much as I normally would.
DeleteGood for you walking around the gardens in sun and 90s. Lovely flowers though they probably were feeling the heat too. Enjoy your Texas stay!
ReplyDeleteWe considered indoor activities to beat the heat, but for various reasons they didn’t work out. Despite the heat, we enjoyed the gardens.
DeleteI am beyond ready to see blooming flowers and greenery (she says, as snow flurries fly by). I'm not eager to experience hot weather, though. The gardens are beautiful. Love the frog fountain!
ReplyDeleteMy sister in Maine sent me pictures of snow there. It was snowing and they have quite a bit on the ground. :( Back in Maryland, it's in the 70s. Perfect. But it could change at any minute.
DeleteI'm on Ward's Chrome book and it's being stubborn about letting me log into my Google account. No, Ward is not answering comments at this point. :)
DeleteSounds like Day 1 of your vacation went very well, even if it was hot! Lovely gardens.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens were lovely. We saw three weddings that were using them as a backdrop.
DeleteSo nice to see colors of the flowers/garden. It didn't look lik 90 degrees there, sunny looking though.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
The sun was pretty intense. I was surprised that so many people were out on such a hot day.
DeleteOh those gardens...what a sight! The heat so early would hard on you I am sure.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t show it, but the gardens were on a lake which was very pretty, too.
