| A couple more crocuses have bloomed. |
Good morning, everyone. Are you a morning person? Do you wake up ready to go? If you are, then you and I are opposite, just like my husband and I are. I have sleep inertia where I wake up slowly, and over the last several years, I usually wake up with a headache. A migraine-like headache because it's always on the left side of my head. Fortunately, it usually dissipates after a couple of hours.
So that's probably more than you wanted to know, but if you haven't guessed, this is another speed-blogging/stream-of-consciousness session. I've been intending to visit with you here for several days now. But you know what they say about good intentions. (The road to hell is paved with good intentions.)
We finally have all of the holiday things stowed away for another year, and everything is back in its normal place. Without the lights and other decorations, the place seems bare, but it is good to be back to some order.
And it's especially good that we have order back in our kitchen. We've had mice in there, and the pantry and a couple of drawers have been emptied for a few days while we caught the culprits. All seems quiet on that front for now, so after a thorough cleaning, the kitchen has some order again.
We've had a few days recently with temperatures in the 50s, so we took advantage of the warm weather and visited the boats on Carroll Creek. Carroll Creek Park is a river walk with walkways, sculptures, and landscaping. For a couple of months around Christmas, they feature lighted boat sculptures in the water. It's a charity event for local organizations. Wally and Theo went with us, and we had a nice dinner at a local pub afterwards. Below are some pictures.

These are such fun. I was about to say I liked the boats which still looked like boats, and then "Up" appeared, and I loved it!

DeleteSorry about the headaches. I usually wake up with one too, and I have a cold so that makes it worse. Not the way I wanted to start the New Year.
Ugh on the mice, hope they won't bother you anymore.
I love the pictures of the boat sculptures! How fun! My favs would be the Up house, yellow submarine and the tug boat.

We usually have mice in the house every winter when the weather gets colder. The worst is when they get stuck in the wall and rot. The stink is really bad and lasts for weeks/months. So far this year, we haven't had that problem. Fingers crossed. :)

I'm sorry you've had to deal with mice; hopefully you have seen the last of them. Did you have mice when you had your cats?
I enjoyed seeing the lighted boat sculptures. So pretty!
We had mice when we had cats and sometimes they caught them. Other times, the mice got caught in the walls where the cats couldn't get to them. When the cats got old, they stopped going after them, much to our disappointment.

DeleteThat's awful that you wake up with that kind of headache. I don't think I'd be a morning person, either, if that was how my day started. I am more of a morning person, though, and definitely prefer to tackle harder tasks in the morning.

Even when I don't wake up with a headache, I am still slow to wake up. Always have been. It's bittersweet when we take down the Christmas tree. I like having things back in place, but I miss the decorations and lights.

While there are several light displays around Christmas here, the boats are unique. I'm happy that I got to see them.
DeleteMorning person? People would probably say that we are as we are often up before the sunrise. But we do not do anything 9, sometimes 10 as we need time to relax and wake up before we get active. Love the boat pictures, they really took their time in decorating them!
