Ward and I took a walk today, and this hymn is what I was thinking as we were enjoying the beauty of autumn.
For the Beauty of the Earth
For the beauty of the earth
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
over and around us lies:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our joyful hymn of praise.
For the beauty of each hour
of the day and of the night.
Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light:
Lord of all to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise.
Pictures from a walk today in Fountain Rock Nature Center.
Until next time...

These are all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNot only was the scenery beautiful, so was the weather with a only slight chill to the air with no breeze. We really enjoyed ourselves.
DeleteNature has so many delightful things! The hymn perfectly captures your pictures.
ReplyDeleteWally and Theo went to this park recently and recommended it. In addition to the trails, they have a nature center and housing for when the school kids do outdoor ed.
DeleteWhile looking at your beautiful photos, I was mentally singing the hymn. we had not sung it at church for a while and I had not recently thought of how beautiful it is.
ReplyDelete"For the Beauty of the Earth" is a favorite hymn of mine.
DeleteA beautiful post, beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteNature never disappoints.
DeleteA lovely hymn and lovely pictures from your walk! Those autumn colors are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing the pictures from your walk with us. :)
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a beautiful time with both colorful leaves and some flowers. I'll post pictures of them soon.
DeleteThank you for the pictures and the hymn! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteOf course I had to sing along ;) but I remember it a little differently...Lord of all, to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.
That's actually the way I know it to, but I went with seemed to be the original lyrics.
DeleteI also learned it that way, Kathy!
DeleteBeautiful pictures! Looks like such a serene walk. And what a great shot of the heron!
ReplyDeleteSerene is a good word to describe a walk. Herons seem to stay still longer than other birds and that makes it easier for me to get decent picture of them. This one cooperated with that.
