I haven't had much of chance to look around outside this week because we've had a lot of storms. I don't mind being out in rain, but I do not feel comfortable when there is thunder and lightning with it. Rain continues in the forecast for the next few days.
The birds are maturing nicely and I won't be surprised to see they've fledged the next time I get a chance to look. They grow up so fast.
Here are a few things I saw this week
during a Second Look.

Cranesbill |

Rozanne geranium |

Purple sage |

The feathers are developing nicely on the baby bluebirds who are two weeks old now. For comparison, below are the pictures from last week and the week before on the day they were born.

Such fun comparing bird photos! Amazing, how quickly they grow. We have enjoyed watching our robins feed their babies in our back yard this summer.
ReplyDeleteLove your purple flowers. Remember the song Deep Purple? (I think there's an older version of it, but I remember the Donny and Marie version ... aging myself, aren't I?).
I do remember that Donnie loved the color purple. Didn't he wear purple socks?
DeleteI don't remember that. I was in upper elementary/middle school when they were popular. It was the phase of life where kids use their hairbrush as a microphone and pretend to be famous musicians .... or maybe I was the only one who did that.
DeleteWhen you said Purple Rain, I was thinking of Prince. However, I just listened to Donnie and Marie singing their version on YouTube. I also looked up about Donnie's socks. Yes, he did wear purple socks. In his memoir, he said that he couldn't leave the house without them because he considered them a good luck charm. That was in the '80's when his career was not going well.
