This week the weather warmed and the the snow finally melted, so I was curious to see what had been hiding and ready to peek out now that it was gone. I found no crocuses anywhere, but I did find a few daffodil leaves emerging in a couple of places. But the best of all were the snow drops. They were up with buds and blooms. Spring is coming very soon. :)
Here's what I saw this week
during a Second Look.
(I only got a couple of pictures because I wanted to feature signs of spring.)

The majority of the snow has melted from our back yard but we still have quite a bit in the front (northern exposure). I'm seeing daffodil leaves and our crocuses are full force in the back, but I haven't seen snowdrops yet--of course, we've all been sharing a tummy bug around here so opportunities for flower gazing are few and far between.
ReplyDeleteI hope your stomach flu runs its course soon. There are few things as miserable.
DeleteAs their name implies, snowdrops are usually the first thing we see each year. Last year we saw them about the same time, but the year before we saw them a month earlier.
The kids and I are doing better, but poor hubby came down with it last night. And even the cat threw up today, although he's shedding a lot lately, so I think that's more the issue with him ... thanks for your well-wishes.
ReplyDeleteWith four cats around here, there always seems to one or the other of them throwing up. However, it's usually some stage of hairball as you suspect with your cat.
DeleteWe have daffodils blooming so spring is definitely on her way.
ReplyDeleteDaffodils are special around here because the deer don't eat them. Soon enough we should be seeing their blooms like your are.
DeleteBeautiful photos again. Glad your snow melted and things are pushing their way through the earth. We are in full blown spring here. Today it is nearly 80 degrees. The early bloomers are pretty much done and the second round has started. Now the key question will be how long the pollen will last.
ReplyDeleteSpring is welcome in some ways, but not in others as you just reminded me--pollen. However, I'll take the bad with the good--the pollen with the beautiful blooms. I guess I don't have much choice.
DeleteOh, Yay! Spring is finally arriving, there! The snowdrops are one of my favorites in early spring.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for me to pick a favorite spring flower--they are each so welcome.
DeleteI agree! Every flower I see is my favorite right that moment and then I see a new favorite.
DeleteOur snow is finally gone! The only signs of spring on my property would be the birds and the one tree showing buds. I have a lot of work to do here so next spring I see many more signs. Love the snowdrops!
