A Second Look--November 12, 2014

Here's what I saw this week
during a Second Look.

The sweet gum trees are some of the last to turn.

The volunteer petunia continues to bloom.

A high pressure system brought blues skies for a few days this week. Rain is forecast for tomorrow.

The juncos are returning for the winter.

A few forsythia have been tricked into blooming this fall.

Look at the changes in this maple tree from the end of September until now.

    1. Thanks. I think the juncos are cute birds. They come here for the winter and go back further north for the summer. Opposite of how I usually think of things.

  2. Such beautiful blue skies. It's gray and November-ey with snow pellets and gusty winds here today.

    1. Gusty wind and snow pellets. Yuck. That is supposed to be here tomorrow or the next day. :(

  3. Love your pictures as always especially the Japanese maple. We planted one at the apartment but I didn't get a chance to see it in its first autumn. That's okay I have plenty of room to plant all the trees I want here.

    1. Wish you were closer so I could give you some seedlings from the Japanese maple. They are expensive to buy. However, they are very pretty trees. We have a dwarf one and a regular one.
