I am thankful for rain.
I thought we were going to have sunshine. Instead we had a gentle, cool rain all day long. Because of that, I slowed down and enjoyed the day. No rushing outside to mow the grass and weed the beds. Instead a day inside of reading and watching the birds through the window. For that I am thankful.
We had downpours here, too. We ended up having a quiet evening in -- fresh baked pizza rolls, cherry limeade, Doctor Who and the whole family over.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful evening. We used to watch Dr. Who, but got out of the habit. I know my husband would be happy if we started watching again.
DeleteSometimes rain is a great excuse to do what I really want to do--hole up inside and bake, read, knit, and/or nap. :) When the weather is good, I feel like I need to be outside.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. Yesterday, was a good day for rain. However, next Saturday won't be when my nephew is having an Oktoberfest cookout. But I guess I can't always have it both ways. :)
DeleteI love rainy days! Although I have to say that in my attempts to freeze & preserve my garden excess, they haven't been as relaxing as I would hope!
ReplyDeleteBut it will all taste so good later. :)
DeleteI enjoy a good rain too. We had rain Saturday for a while, but it stopped late afternoon and left a wonderful coolness and freshness in the air. It felt good.
ReplyDeleteWe had a beautiful day the next day--cool and sunny. It's been hard to beat our weather the last few days.
