We saw ice on the side of the road, but the roads were dry.
This is what one of the areas that we drove through yesterday looked like. Today it is covered with 12 inches of snow with more falling. Timing is everything.
That's frozen? Amazing! Have you had more than usual snowfall this year? It sure does seem like every time I watch a national weather forecast, there is either snow on the East Coast or the Mid West.
I hope that spring makes a grand entrance soon for you!
Those are icicles from water in the rocks. I wanted to take several other pictures, but in the rural area that we traveled through, there was no place to get off the road. We have had a lot of snow "events" this year but not a lot of snow--not like the midwest. However, we woke up to about four inches this morning.
How did your plants survive the hail storm from last week?
Surprisingly, everything did okay. I lost a few broccoli and lettuce plants, but overall they survived. It did wipe out my crocus, but I guess that's to be expected. Thanks for asking.
Surely this has to be the last of winter for your area. Although, when we lived in Utah, one year we had snow mid-April, and everyone thought that was late. It's really hard to know when winter is through. I could still snow here. The latest snow recorded was April 1st a few years ago.
That looks as cold as it feels here. It's really really really cold, and we're keen for spring to put in an appearance...Hope your visit with your parents went well.
That's a really cool photo :) And crazy about the snow - doesn't winter know it's supposed to be over?
ReplyDeleteToday I heard that we have had over 25 snow events this winter. Although, they haven't amounted to much accumulation, I'm still getting tired of them.

ReplyDeleteThe visit went well overall. It's always good to see how things are going first hand.
