or The Young Economist
Theodore is majoring in economics in college. Looking
back, he had an interest in it all along. Here are some thoughts from
his younger years.
"I like my jalapenos like the way you pay for the house--in small installments."
"If money becomes less valuable, will Daddy get a larger paycheck?"
"If the government is so much in debt, who do they owe money to?
However, those questions were often interspersed with typical boy ones like, "If you could fill a frog with water, what do you think would be the first part to burst?"
It's fun to look back at who our children once were, then forward to today to see who've they become. I find myself thinking, "okay, now that makes sense why they always liked such and such".
ReplyDeleteSo did he ever try to fill a frog with water and which part burst first? Seriously though, I think we can tell from early on in which direction our children will go as adults. My eldest son was full of words, you couldn't get one word in. the only time he was even close to quiet was when reading, but even then he had to stop to tell you what he thought of what he was reading. Today, he's a talented writer hoping to quit his 3rd shift job soon. My youngest was always personable, even at 2 he would touch a friends arm and always address them by name. he was also drawn to technology. A friend mentioned (when he was 2) that he could be a used car salesman. He combined both starting out in sales and now in management in the cell phone industry. He is also a real estate agent and works on computers for a hobby.
ReplyDeleteHe never tried to fill a frog that I know of.
DeleteThis is a lovely post. I am enjoying the ponderings of Theodore.
