My mother was hopeful and my father was proud as it should be when you're just starting out. Things are more difficult for them now, but I think the same adjectives apply.
I like to look at pictures of people that I only knew as "old" and imagine what their life must have been like when they were "young". I hear the stories, but the stories mean so much more when you have a picture to go with it.
My visit went well. Considering the shape they're in, my parents are doing okay.
Your mother is beautiful her eyes are so expressive and gave me the feeling that she was excited by life. Enjoy your visit.
