I am thankful for my curious kitties.
I have old cats. They move slowly, sleep a lot, and groom little. They look and act very much like the 19-year-old cats they are. But yesterday, their younger selves emerged when we brought out the Christmas decorations. They sniffed, pawed, and otherwise tried to dominate the different Christmas containers and bags. And for this spark of curiosity that I saw in Annie and Leo, I am thankful.
(And I'm also thankful that they aren't knocking all of the ornaments off the tree, or knocking it over, for that matter.)
Aww! So cute. Our cat got in a very silly mood when we decorated a week ago. Besides hopping in boxes and laying on tissue paper, he raced through the house. It's funny to watch then when they do that. He's not quite as old as your cats and still occasionally will get in a playful mood.
ReplyDeleteThe cats have provided us with lots of entertainment at Christmas over the years. We still hang "their" ornaments on the bottom of the tree - ones that don't matter if they took them off and chased them around the house. :)
Delete19 years young, and still get excited over Christmas decor.
ReplyDeleteLast year, Annie couldn't stay out of the peppermint candies. they acted like catnip for her. Now that I think about it, catnip is in the mint family. It's starting to make more sense now.
DeleteAww, Annie and Leo look like they could be Dancer's older siblings! Bless them and their curiosity. :)
ReplyDeleteFor sure, Dancer, Annie, and Leo look a lot alike. And they're all fun kitties.
