It's that time of year again--time when I show you ornaments on my Christmas tree. I wasn't going to do it this year, but then I noticed a new one. That was enough of an excuse for me to do it again. Here we go with today's features.
All Creatures Great and Small
(or at least some of them).
I love the cross stitch crab. Living in New Orleans then?
ReplyDeleteWe were in New Orleans at the time and my young cousin made that for us.
DeleteVery cute--the last picture is my favorite. Your cat looks mesmerized by the ornament.
ReplyDeleteMy son went through a dinosaur stage and we, also, have a dinosaur in our tree. My daughter is still in her cat phase so we have many cat ornaments.
As I mentioned before, it's been fun to watch our very sedentary, elderly cats come alive with the Christmas things. Annie wouldn't leave me alone as I was trying to take pictures of the ornaments so I took one of her.
DeleteThe dinosaur ornaments were given to Wally by a friend when he was two years old. I didn't post one of them that has had it's tail chewed off by a former cat.
Oh, I like all those ornaments, but, my favorite photo is the one of Annie! I remember you saying that you put some ornaments on the lower branches just for the cats' amusement. I don't have a tree up, this year, so Dancer gets to miss out on all the fun.
ReplyDeleteThere are no breakable ornaments on the lower branches, but Annie wasn't interested in them or the ones we put on just for the cats. You can see one of them, the little red ball on the left of the picture. She just seemed to want to pester me. :) It used to be that those and several other ornaments would be all over the room when we got up in the morning and we had to redecorate the tree. The first cat we had would climb up into the middle of the tree and take a nap without disturbing anything.
DeleteVery cute, and your cat is beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks, Akasha.
DeleteThat last ornament is AWESOME, looks so real, where'd you get that? Kidding you. I have one or two of those ornaments. I love the bears and Snoopy and the dinosaur. Your ornaments each probably have a story too. When I was young, I added a special ornament each year, that held meaning. I lost all those somewhere along life's timeline of frantic moves and boxes lost.
ReplyDeleteI got the last one at a Petsmart adoption day along with her brother. However, he was sleeping at the time and couldn't be bothered to make a pest of himself like his sister.
DeleteEach ornament does have a story, but I"m not sure that those stories mean much to anyone but me. However, that hasn't stopped me from telling them in the past and probably won't stop me from telling them in the future. :)
