Here's what I found this week during my Second Look.
Crocus |
Grey squirrel who had just snatched some bird food. |
Crow among maple buds |
Bluebird on new bluebird box. We hope he comes back and builds a nest. |
Junco among emerging day lilies |
Some of our daily visitors among wild cherry trees and wild roses. |
Chickadees |
Daffodils (no full blooms yet) |
Looks like spring is not far off :) I've been seeing some wildlife around my place too, although a bit closer to home (a possum on top of my outdoor fridge!).
ReplyDeleteWe have possums around here, but I haven't seen one. Did he make off with anything?
DeleteDo the deer come up near the house ever? They sure are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhile they have never been on our patio, they do come pretty close to our house. They are very beautiful creatures with a hearty appetite. One year, I tried to direct them to a big bed of day lilies which they love. I'd tried to make a deal that they could feast to their heart's content on that bed if they left the other beds alone. It didn't work.
DeleteLove the bluebird! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe saw the bluebird again today on top of the house. I have high hopes for a nest.
DeleteI can't believe how much is blooming around you I can't even find the ground through all our snow, even the roads are barely passable. I keep watching to spot one of our deer, she has twins it seems every year and I love seeing them so young.
ReplyDeleteDo you go from snow season to mud season like many areas do? I hope you're seeing some green soon.
DeleteLast year, we had two sets of twins in our herd. They were fun to watch.
Spring is near! We are getting some tulips and crocuses here too but nothing else yet. And snow is in the forecast for tomorrow :(
ReplyDeleteWe have snow forecast for tomorrow. However, I don't think it should be much.
