It's time for Food Waste Friday, when the Frugalgirl encourages
us to post pictures from the
previous week of wasted food from
our household. This accountability
hopefully will help us to be more
careful with our food and maybe save some
money. Also, I am using this public forum to encourage us to eat out less
which includes better meal planning. You can follow how we are doing in
this endeavor by reading True Food Confessions
.
This Week's Food Waste
I did a clean out of the condiments in the refrigerator door and found these things that were long past their shelf life. Out they went.
This Week's True Food Confessions
We have been traveling this week to help my mother who is in the hospital, so we have been eating out. Therefore, we're not quite back to "regular" eating. Maybe next week.
My waste this week came from the fridge door too. Not a good week for fridge doors!
ReplyDeleteI hope your mother gets well soon, and I totally understand how everything gets put on hold when you have a loved one in the hospital.
Thanks for your get well wishes. You hate to complain when you are not the one who is sick, but all of this is tiring.
DeleteI hope your mum gets well soon, too, and things get easier for all of you. With lots of travelling you couldn't hope to get back to your home-cooking routine.
ReplyDeleteWell-wishes for your mom.
ReplyDeleteCondiments are our food waste problem, here. We never use much at a time, or even plan on using much, so it seems that there is so much in a container that could go to waste.
Those particular condiments were ones Theo bought for a couple of recipes two years ago. Obviously, the recipes were not a hit.
DeleteGood on yas for ousting those sad condiments and door space wasters. I have a few jars too but they're not quite expired. They're used, just not as often as say salad dressing, relish, mustard & ketchup.
ReplyDeleteHope your mom gets well soon!
I never thought about them being door wasters, but it should be easier to see what's there now. Thanks for the get well wishes for my mother.
