Welcome 2021!
In the new year, may you find the peace of a cat sleeping in a sunbeam. |
While there is no doubt that everyone wants this pandemic that started in 2020 over, it has been remarkable in some ways. It has unified people around the entire globe. We have been united in trying to figure out the best procedures, treatments, and vaccines for the disease. Sometimes there have been disagreements on what those are, but there has been a common goal--to be rid of the devastating effects of the coronavirus. That blows my mind. Around the world everyone is thinking about the same thing and feeling empathy for each other. I guess you might call that the silver lining to the storm cloud of 2020.
So I'll just summarize and say, "Goodbye, 2020 and thank you for all that you taught us, and Welcome 2021, we have high hopes for you."
I have a good feeling about 2021
ReplyDeleteI like your feeling. I feel like it's going to be better than 2020, too.
DeleteHappy New Year, June! Love the photo of Annie (?) sleeping in the peppermint scented sunbeam!
ReplyDeleteThat is actually Annie's brother, Leo. He lets her get the mints down and when she tires of them, he moves in. BTW, Annie and Leo are litter mates and hard to tell apart - even for us sometimes and we've lived with them for 17 years.
DeleteThat picture is so funny. I like the whole story about how Annie knocks them down and Leo moves in afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI think the big thing I noticed at work has been the ongoing willingness to support each other (and as health care workers, it's been a long slog), the increased awareness by administration of the need to provide ongoing support (my department has great leaders--I'm thinking on a big scale--the CEO, and so on), and the awareness of the need to get rid of all the red tape we have always had to go through to get changes made. I'm hopeful that these mindsets will continue as we go on in time. I'm also hopeful for the vaccines to work .... but overall I can't say it's been the most awful year ever for me. There have been some good things to come out of it.
I think there have been several positive changes as a result of this pandemic that I hope will continue such as working more from home. It will be interesting to see what the new normal will look like when things relax a little.
DeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIt is quite something that people in every corner of the world are checking their local news for more on the same topic as I am, just in a different geographic region. It's a "we are all in this together" moment.
I do have hope for 2021.
We are definitely all in this together and I, too, have high hopes for 2021. How could we not?
DeleteBye bye 2020!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's gone but 2021 is bringing its own brand difficulties. Hopefully, things will only get better from here on out on all fronts.
