Thankful Sunday--March 25, 2018

I am thankful for M&M's.

M&Ms always hit the spot for me when I want a treat. I like the crunchy melts-in-your-mouth-not-in-your-hand covering and the milk chocolate inside. They may not be the healthiest choice, but everything in moderation is my mantra. So for colorful, tasty M&Ms I am thankful.

What is a favorite candy of yours?

    1. Kris, I didn't mean to remove your comment. A slip of the finger and some how it was gone. Sorry. Let me summarize Kris's comment for those of you who didn't get to read it.

Kris likes M&M's and especially liked the peanut ones when she was pregnant. She likes the cherry ones that come out for Valentine's Day but she can't always find them. She will also buy a chocolate covered cherry sometimes as she really likes the cherry chocolate combination. Although she doesn't regularly buy them, she also likes Reeses Cups and Butterfingers.

If you happen to come back for a visit, Kris, you can correct my interpretation of your comment.

    2. I also like Peanut M&Ms. It's a toss up if I like the regular or peanut ones better. When I eat the peanut ones, I pretend they are healthier because of the peanuts. However, I don't like the cherry ones or chocolate covered cherries. I don't like most cherries especially maraschino that are used in many candies. However, I happy to have a piece of cherry pie.

I also like Reeses Cups and have decided the fun size ones have exactly the right amount of chocolate to peanut butter ratio. And a fresh Butterfinger is really good. When they are a little older the middle is a bit sticky to chew.

I usually do a pretty good job at resisting the urge to buy a candy bar, but at work we seem to have a steady supply of fun-size chocolates and I do not resist those.

    3. You did a marvelous summary of my comment. I'm also not a fan of maraschino cherries, and a big fan of cherry pie!

  2. I, too, like M&Ms. The candy covered chocolates of my childhood were called Smarties, which are a British candy and similar to M&Ms. I love chocolates of any kind, for the most part, but there's a dark chocolate covered marzipan that a candy company called See's makes, here, that is a favorite.

    1. We have Smarties here which are tart, fruit flavored candies that look like M&Ms. I like them now, but the first time I had them I thought they were M&Ms and I was very disappointed.

The See's candy sounds good, too, but I don't think I've ever had some.

  3. I love them too. I also love Hot Tamales and Boston Baked Beans.

    1. I, too, really like Hot Tamales and Boston Baked Beans, but those are hard to find sometimes. For a while, my vet had Hot Tamales in his treat bowl. He provides human treats as well as treats for the animals.

  4. Reese's peanut butter cups. But at the moment I'm on a diet, so none of the above for me!

    1. I hope your diet is going well and the peanut butter cup temptation is not too great.
