Lucky has slept under the tree every day since we put it up. He's not happy that we took it down. |
As soon as Ward started bringing lights in from outside, the cats were all over them. |
Lucky spent more time with the lights than Annie and Leo. He particularly likes plastic grocery bags, so it was double fun for him. |
After Annie pawed at the lights, she was investigating this pile of soft things. |
However, as interesting as the Christmas things were, they were not as tempting as the sunbeam. |
What a fun post! Our cat does the same things so I got a kick out of it. Max the Cat is in a sad state today--I'm the only one home so he isn't getting nearly the lap time he has become used to getting while the kids were home on break. Maybe when I get out more boxes to dismantle the Christmas tree, he will perk up. :)
ReplyDeleteMy cats aren't very happy when I am busy at home and I don't sit down for long. As soon as they settle in, I'm up again. So, I bet Max really appreciated the extra laps around so there was usually someone sitting down long enough for them to get a good purr and nap in.
DeleteIt was always the box of ribbons and bows that our cats loved. That plasticky texture of cheap ribbon was something they loved chewing on. We had one cat who slept under the tree every year, too. I have the tree skirt my mom made in the 60s (white felt) and I think it still has bits of cat fur (black fur) on it.
ReplyDeleteOur tree skirt is white with appliqued cardinals on it. Well, it WAS white. Shoulda got a skirt the color of the cat ...
DeleteOurs used to be red and green. Now it's red and green peeking out from brown and black fur. I used to clean it every year a few times, but now I don't. A furry tree skirt has become one of our traditions.
DeleteOh the sunbeams! Nothing is ever quite as much fun as a sunbeam!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate them myself this time of year. :)
DeleteWhat cute photos. The plastic bags would be irresistible. Even my plastic Christmas tree was a draw to the cats, although I never did get it decorated.
ReplyDeleteIt must be fun at your house as you watch all of the different cats with the Christmas tree. Do any of them climb it? Ours used to, but don't any more.
DeleteAdorable cats! Glad you gave them a happy time!
ReplyDeleteThey were a lot of fun to watch.
DeleteWe had a similar experience with Shelby the dog. She was unhappy when we put Christmas out and was upset when we took it down. I think change bothers her most.
ReplyDeleteI hope Shelby is better now. I don't always like change either.
