Crocuses are the stars of this week's Second Look. They are popping up everywhere with their bright colors and now I actually believe that spring is here. Besides crocuses, I'm also seeing more bird activity along with some fresh digging around the groundhog holes. It's just not me. I think all of God's creatures are enjoying the warming of spring.
Here are a few things I saw this week
during a Second Look.

Usually, finches are present all winter at feeders. However, this winter they have been largely absent from ours. However, this week saw their return. |
The snowdrops continue to bloom. |
It's hard to see, but this is the first critter hole that we've seen fresh digging at this spring. |
I'm never sure which spring flower is my favorite, but since today is C day, I'll go with you on crocuses. You have more varieties than I do.
ReplyDeleteI still have several that haven't come up yet, so I have more than are pictured--most notably yellow ones. I agree with you about your favorite spring flowers. I'll go with crocuses today also.
DeleteYou're so lucky to have flowers blooming. We still have snow on the ground, and not a speck of color. We had sun and warmer temps for about 15 min yesterday : ) It was wonderful! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, I hope you get some warm weather soon. It certainly helps my mood to feel some warmth and see some color.
DeleteI love all the spring bulbs when they bloom but crocuses are up there as one of my favorites. How fortunate that the weather cooperated for letter C with the crocuses blooming. Bird activity here is getting busy too, the bird feeder has to be refiled often. I'm just glad they found the feeder since there hadn't been one here before I moved in.
ReplyDeleteI think the birds always find a feeder although it takes a little time sometimes. Everyone around me has at least one feeder, so I feel fortunate that the birds use mine with so much to choose from.
DeleteBeautiful pictures and looks like spring is coming just in time for Easter
ReplyDeleteWe are in shorts and flip flops now and enjoying the warmth but the pollen is really intense this year.
Shorts and flip flops. I wish I could wear those to work. The heating/cooling system has been malfunctioning and it's been 85-90 in there all week. That goodness, we have a couple of windows that open or I don't think we could survive.
DeleteI love the crocus! Most of mine are planted on the north side of the house and have yet to bloom... well either that or I've somehow managed to kill them off! Hopefully soon... :-)
ReplyDeleteThere is one set of crocus that I had seen no sign of until yesterday. I thought that somehow, I or the squirrels had managed to get rid of them. However, all it took was patience. Hopefully, you'll start to see signs of yours soon.
