I am thankful that I have sisters to be silly with sometimes.
My sisters and I are usually reserved kind of people--that is until we get together. Then you can never be sure what is going to happen. And for that I am thankful.
(Can you guess which of us were cheerleaders and which of us were majorettes in our earlier days?)
How fun. My sisters are serious most of the time--my brother and I are the silly ones.
ReplyDeleteNot good with identifying cheerleaders vs. majorettes--I'm guessing the bottom center one was a majorette ... I took baton lessons in elementary school because my mom was attempting to make me graceful (didn't work) and that's the closest I ever got to majorettes.
Your guess is correct. However, I was a cheerleader not a majorette. I learned some baton twirling because my older sister did it, but mostly I tried not to hit myself in the head when I was trying to catch it after throwing up into the air.

Ha! That's hilarious! To be perfectly honest, I have no earthly idea what's the difference between a cheerleader and a majorette - my family is full of scientists, academics, musicians, artists and geeks. But, if you want to argue about statistical models or delve into crazy jazz substitution chords, we've got you covered!
ReplyDeleteVery simply, cheerleaders cheer for sports teams. Majorettes are in front of a band with batons leading them on.
DeleteCheerleaders and majorettes are not mutually exclusive of scientists and geeks. We have more than our fair share of both along with some musicians. There are some nieces and nephews who are quite artistic, but to quite honest, I think those genes were married into the family.
