I am thankful for jigsaw puzzles.
During these snowy days when it's been hard to get anywhere except to shovel the driveway, I am thankful for an abundant supply of jigsaw puzzles. (Ward is a whiz at working them, so we go through them pretty quickly.)
We still do 100 piece or smaller with my kids, but as they get older, I look forward to repeating what my mom did when I was growing up--setting up a table with a large puzzle that we could work on for a long time. I'm not very good at them but I enjoy the process.
ReplyDeleteWe usually have a puzzle out, but Ward works them so fast, they are always changing. Don't you have a cat? Cats love puzzles too, so you'll have to figure out a way keep them from playing with all of your pieces if you keep one out. In the meantime, I bet 100 piece puzzles are still a lot of fun.
DeleteYes, we have a cat, which is why my valentine's bouquet is on top of the entertainment armoire--it's the only place the stinker can't get.
ReplyDeleteRight now we do puzzles on the kitchen table because they don't take up a lot of room but I hadn't thought about the complications of doing a larger puzzle with the cat getting into it. Hmm.
When you get to the point of putting a puzzle out to stay, I have some ideas that may help you. Let me know.
DeleteI honestly am not really into puzzles, but one way I have liked them is at social gatherings. I've been to a house party or two where they dump out a puzzle on a table, and random people casually work on it throughout the evening. I like doing something with my hands.
ReplyDeleteI find putting pieces of a puzzle together very satisfying. However, I don't have the patience to work a big one. That's where my husband comes in. I can wander by one he's working on, put together a few pieces, and still have the satisfaction of seeing it completed.
