I am thankful for thunderstorms.

Last night, we had a thunderstorm--the kind that happens at the end of a hot humid day. We turned out the lights and watched the show outside, and today we are thankful for the cooler weather it brought.
(When I see a storm, it often reminds me of Theo and his observations about them when he was little.)
I LOVE thunderstorms. CatMan and I got caught in a big one on an afternoon bike ride last week. We ended up cutting the ride short and just barely made it to his house as the heavens opened up. We were soaked to the skin and covered in mud, but it was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI also have a healthy appreciation for their power. I try to be smart and not take any risks with lightning when one is around.
DeleteYour bike ride sounds great. Rain, with the accompanying mud can feel wonderful especially if it's a warm day.
I sat up and watched our storm Friday night as well. It was lovely and brought a much needed relief from the heat and humidity we had been experiencing. I like to look at rain and storms as my reminder to slow down and take it easy. Besides falling asleep to rain I also like to curl up with a book with just the sounds of nature as my background music.
