Thankful Sunday, April 14, 2013

I am thankful for a garage door opener.

I have lived without a car. I have also lived with a car that was parked on the street, and another place where the car was parked in the driveway, and yet another where it was parked in a garage with a door that opened manually.

However, the best of all is what I have now--a car that can be parked in a garage that is opened remotely. That is something I am truly thankful for especially during bad weather.

  1. What is with this crazy weather anyway. I still vividly recall my mother remarrying on April 24th one year. We had beautiful weather the entire month except that day. But this year, April has been mostly cold so far and the heat must stay on. I'm getting a little worried because May 1st is when our broiler is turned off each year (for heating the apartments) at this rate we're still going to need it.

    1. Do you have a little space heater if you need it? I think the weather will be good in May. I hope so anyway.

  2. Yay for the garage door opener :) At my old place we had a garage but we never used it for the car because it was such an awkward angle to drive in (plus we didn't have an automatic opener!). At my current place I have to car-shuffle with my landlords to fit four cars into one double driveway.

    1. We have a garage, but half of it is my husbands workshop, so we're still shuffling cars. Each person has their "own" car, but I just take whatever the last car in line is. I guess you can't do that.

  3. I've lived with all sorts of situations, with regards to garages/openers etc. I hated having a garage but no opener. I actually found that I preferred just leaving the car in the driveway and using a house door, to having to hop out of the car to open and close the garage door by hand. My parents used to always tell us that kids were garage door openers. But that only works when your kids are big enough to do the opening, and you have them along for the ride.
