We might sneeze a little less if we had fewer cats around, but no one is very allergic to them if at all. The cats provide us with endless hours of entertainment and snuggling and we're thankful we have them (despite the shredded furniture.)
Awww... My newest cat, Princess is sitting in my lap purring at the moment - she heartily approves.
Actually my current crop of cats (4 in all) were all neighborhood strays who adopted me. It took me 6 months to coax Princess out from under the big pine tree in my front yard... 6 very cold months with me putting out food and water for her several times a day and shoving every conceivable kind of heated kitty house under the tree for her. Then one day she finally let me get close enough to touch her, and as soon as she got one caress, she climbed into my lap and hasn't wanted to leave it since!
Previous to this set of cats, we got a stray that was living under a friend's house. There were a litter of kittens, a few months old, whose mother had been killed and they were somewhat feral. We put out a saucer of food to lure them out and Teddy (our future cat) was the only one who was more interested in the food than the danger we represented. Therefore, we were able to capture her. We took her home and she always a big eater. We got a lot of good lap time too.
Cute! I'm a cat person. But haven't had a cat in years -- allergies! So I just enjoy other people's cats.
