More mums are blooming in the yard. |
I haven't done an exercise check in for a while, so I thought it was time. I continue to attend classes 4-5 times per week, unless there is something else on the schedule, such as a doctor's appointment. I like the line dance classes I go to and am becoming more comfortable each week. However, I wouldn't say that I like the rest of the classes. I go because they are good for me, and I don't seem to be able to push myself as hard as I need to when left to my own devices. I tried that for years, and an organized class is what I need. And now that I have the flexibility in my schedule since retirement, I can do them regularly.
However, in this morning's class, I pulled something in my groin and couldn't do some of the exercises. Hopefully, it will correct itself before too long, and I'll be back to my regular aches and pains.
Here are a few more things that have been happening around here recently.

After lunch, Theo casually mentioned that they were having a family day at work, so off we went. They had lots of food and games, but Ward was most interested in learning about the pallet jacks. |
Another color of mum in bloom, along with pollinating visitors. |
That's about all I can think of for now.
Until next time...
The crepe myrtle looks huge! It will be beautiful when it blooms. I hope your muscle heals. It sounds painful. And I would sure like to work with the dogs as you did! So interesting. You have certainly had a variety of activities lately!
ReplyDeleteWe're certainly not starting with a stick like we did with our apple tree. We both really like the bark of a crepe myrtle, so we hope to continue to train this one to be a tree.
DeleteMMm, it's the season to start thinking about making soup! Love the last photo of colorful mums and bees!
ReplyDeleteI love bees and butterflies and like to take pictures of them. :)
DeleteWhat gorgeous flowers! Glad you and Theo enjoyed a cooking session and a day out at the work get-together. The dog training is so cool! Y'all sure get to do some fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe sun was shining brightly on the mums when I took the pictures and it made them even prettier.
DeleteBeautiful flowers! My exercise has been nil since my skin cancer surgery on my shin. It’s taking a long time to heal and doesn’t want to close so I’m babying it.
ReplyDeleteInjuries on shins seem to take forever to heal it seems. Hopefully, it won't be much longer until you don't have to baby it.
DeleteThat sounds interesting to help with certification for therapy dogs.
ReplyDeleteYou would have loved it. Last time, we saw a therapy rat. I'm not into rats, but it was very cute.
DeleteYour mums are so lovely and colorful. Sounds like you've had lots of fun activities, making soup with Theo and enjoying family day at his work place, helping with certifying the therapy dogs, and enjoying your line dancing classes. I do hope that whatever you pulled in your groin heals itself soon and you can do your exercises without any pain.
ReplyDeleteI’m not sure I’ll ever exercise without some pain, but this acute pain is starting to subside.
DeleteI hope whatever you pulled goes back to normal quickly.
ReplyDeleteYour mums are so pretty! I especially like the last ones. That crepe myrtle looks huge! Those are such pretty trees.
That's wonderful that you and Ward continue to help with the therapy dog certifications. They seem to do so much good for people.
I can still feel the pull, but it's manageable now. I fell in love with crepe myrtles when lived in New Orleans and saw the large crepe myrtle trees around. Ward and I both like the bark as well as the blooms.
DeleteHelping with the therapy dog certification is a very small thing to do, so that the wonderful volunteers and their dogs can bring a little sunshine to so many people.
