However, I also saw them trying to hang on as the feeder was blowing around. Today it was windy and tonight it will be zero or below. We may be breaking some records with that. I've seen a few birds here too and worry about them with such extremely cold temps for this area.Loishttp://theecograndma.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315851262843522940.post-27960466594522035442015-02-18T16:35:37.483-05:002015-02-18T16:35:37.483-05:00We haven't had a lot of snow, but we've ha...We haven't had a lot of snow, but we've had more low temps than usual which makes the snow and ice stick around longer. I had to put on my reading glasses to see the sparrow!

We woke up to an unexpected 6 or 7 inches of snow tomorrow, with more on the way. That's lake-effect snow for ya. It's more the frigid temps that get to me than the snow. Yesterday I thought about snowshoeing for exercise ... then I thought, nah, I'll go to the basement and try my exercise DVD instead ... so I guess I'm right there with you, admiring the out-of-doors while staying in my heated home!
