I know it can be done because other folks have them in their yards, but they probably need, ahem, more water than I'm willing to dole out. Next year when I WILL get organized enough to set up more irrigation hoses (this time for sure) I'll give it a try.<br /><br />Anyhow, your photos are lovely as usual. I love the frost on the leaves. So many variables go into predicting the weather accurately. All of them came up on their own from seeds from last year and have been very prolific bloomers. The mums at ...Those are mums planted in the ground. The mums at my current house look nothing like that. I think the sun has something to do with it as well as a warm and wet spring. No one has lived in the house since April, so I don't they got much attention this summer. We'll see what they do next year.<br /><br />I have never been on a specific hike for mushrooms. However, my father-in-law is quite knowledgeable in that area and used to tell us a lot when we hiked with him. Even with study, I'm too afraid to eat mushrooms from the wild, so I've never studied them.
