Slowly, but surely, I will eventually be able to identify everything here. The real trick will be remembering everything I learn.Live and Learnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13493777474885053903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315851262843522940.post-72570777066123777292017-06-13T10:42:49.856-04:002017-06-13T10:42:49.856-04:00How wonderful that you acquired a garden of deligh...How wonderful that you acquired a garden of delights along with your new home. The soil is very rocky and in a couple of beds I've run into actual gravel. Every established bed has several kinds of weedy vines that are impossible to get rid of and are choking out other plants. I've learned from the past how difficult these invasive weed situations can be. However, I still find areas that make me smile every day.

My sister likes to dig up roots from old trees and bushes. She finds the work interesting and physically challenging. Sometimes it's a kind of meditative process for her. She has done all kinds of interesting things with them when she gets them out. Maybe you can do the same thing in your parents yard as a distraction.Live and Learnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13493777474885053903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315851262843522940.post-43014135670574862372017-06-12T15:06:57.024-04:002017-06-12T15:06:57.024-04:00CHERRY PIE! I would be grateful as well :o) My parents inherited a much less loved yard when they moved into their new house and it's been quite a bit of work... I think the worst part is weeding and raking a garden bed only to find surprise roots from old plants. Lotsa hard work getting those up. Yes, I took a few sprays of dirt to the face. :o/HBFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10338445335742876196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315851262843522940.post-19431323899046573502017-06-12T07:32:40.683-04:002017-06-12T07:32:40.683-04:00I looked at a few pictures and the yellow flowers ...I looked at a few pictures and the yellow flowers look like evening primroses. I'm sure much of what I've done to the place will be lost to the ravages of time, but somehow it's a comforting thought that some future person might someday enjoy the grapes or raspberries that I planted.EcoCatLadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15704811319510740473noreply@blogger.com
