Thankful Sunday--October 9, 2016

The dogwood trees are always the first to change. If you look closely,
you can see a few yellow and red leaves on the maple tree.

I am thankful for fall weather.

Today it really feels like fall. There is a chill in the air and a wind that is blowing the leaves that are just beginning to change. To me there is nothing better than the change of seasons. The transition from one to the other always gives me a change of perspective and a reset that is needed each time it rolls around. So for the change of seasons and the feel of fall in the air, I am thankful.

  1. Funny you should say that. We are at the lake, woke, put on our shorts and tees to sit out on the deck with coffee. We had to walk right back in and grab sweatshirts! First time that has happened since mid spring. It is warming quite a bit now, but we really enjoyed the crisp morning.

    1. I don't enjoy cold weather, but I do really like when it starts to get cold, but still above freezing. How warm is it going to get?

  2. I love fall. It's my favorite season. I like wearing a sweater and/or jacket and cuddling up with a throw (and a cat!). Autumn always feels like the most fleeting season to me, which may be why I like it so much--but I think it also has something to do with apples and pumpkins and leaves changing color.

    1. I had never thought about autumn being a fleeting season, but I can see why it seems that way. Today has been breezy all day (remnants of Matthew, I think), so it's stayed a little colder than I like. However, wearing a sweater and cuddling with a cat can't be beat.

  3. Fall is here too, with lots of rain, a quick sudden transition. We had almost no summer.

    1. We definitely had a summer. I think we set a record for days over 90.

  4. Autumn is a lovely time of the year, isn't it? It hasn't arrived here, yet; 96F yesterday, 86F today.

    1. 96 is definitely too hot to call autumn in my book. Here's hoping for a little cooler weather there soon.
