Thankful Sunday--August 14, 2016

Lucky was the first one I found this morning.

I am thankful my cats.

These days, things are pretty hectic around here. One day I was talking to Wally on the phone about everything that was going on and he gave me this advice, "Mama, stop what you're doing and go find a cat. A cat on your lap always makes you calm." He was right there's nothing like petting a purring cat to calm everything down. So for Wally's advice and my cats, I am thankful.

  1. What is Lucky sitting on in this picture?

Wally gives good advice. There is something so soothing about cuddling with a cat. Good thing you have at least one lap cat! :)

We had my mom over for brunch after church today--our cat somehow knew that the right thing to do was to jump up on her lap.

    1. He's sitting on a roly toy! At least that's what we call them. They have a cardboard scratcher in the middle and a ball that runs in the track around the outside, but is just big enough so they can't get it out. It's a favorite around here! :-)

    2. We have three lap cats, but they each only sit on us in certain places. Leo in the computer chair, Annie on the couch, Lucky either. But we can usually get one of them in our lap at any one time. I'm glad the cat and your mother get along. I hope they enjoyed each other.

Cat is right. That is a scratching pad toy with a with scratching cardboard in the middle and a ball in a track around the edge. This particular one has been in our bedroom for a very long time and has been ignored by them for a long time. I brought it downstairs to put a new scratching pad in it. The other cardboard is shredded and coming out. Since I brought it down, Annie has been scratching it, Leo has been playing with the ball, and Lucky has been sitting on it and dominating it. Anyway, it's new to them again and their enjoying it. Most cats I've seen like this toy. My sister's dog like to play with the ball in the track also.

    1. Cats are so soft and they certainly know how to relax and focus on one things at a time.
