Triple Play = Out

or my very poor attempt at baseball analogy.

What I am trying to say is that we have been without tv, phone, or internet for a few days now and we can't get someone to look at it until Saturday. While I can certainly live without these things, I'm finding it difficult. Like it or not, my life revolves around electronics. Bill paying-online. Letters-email. Questions-phone.

No smart phone, no iPad, no N etflix either.

Oh, woes me! These third word problems.

  1. Hope you get things up and running soon! You are so right--we can live without electronics, but it's inconvenient!

    1. If I didn't have these things regularly, I'd have things set up differently. I think I most frustrated by all of the business I couldn't do without the internet.

You may already be gone, but have a good vacation.

  2. oh, no! You don't realize how much you depend on something until it's taken away. Our internet went out for one day, a month ago, and I was at loose ends. I couldn't check bills, email, go online for instructions or recipes for any projects. And I couldn't keep in touch with my daughters, via email, about coming home times. One day, and it was H-A-R-D. But it is a nice break from feeling like you "have" to go online for anything. Enjoy nature and quiet while it's out! (And you may not even be able to read these comments!)

    1. I didn't think it was that quiet without it, but when the phone started to ring yesterday, I realized that the quiet part had been nice.

  3. I am at a point in life that no phone is unbearable. I talk to Mom at least 5 times a day if I don't go to her house as a means of checking on her. Other than that I can live without it - kinda!

    1. I'm a phone person also talking to someone in my family everyday. While we didn't have phone service, it was still answering and taking messages for us. We had no idea that was happening until we got the service back yesterday. Then we learned that we had eight messages, three of which were important. I think we can sort it all out, but it is going to take some extra work.

  4. No TV or phone would be OK for me but no internet?! The horror! Can you go to the library? Don't pay your bills from there though. Crossing my fingers for you that they might be able to come sooner than Saturday! Also, can you hook up your TV to a digital antenna? That's what we use and we get tons of channels. It's not Netflix but you don't feel so disconnected from the world.

    1. I actually work at a library, so I checked my email everyday before I came home. But I agree with you that I don't want to pay my bills in a public place.

  5. At least they are fixing it by tomorrow! I had to deal with no electricity yesterday for 3 hours. We don't realize how much we do with electricity. I was able to read on my Kindle since I downloaded the book :) They should give you a big discount for inconvenience :)

    1. A tech came and fixed it no time. :) We are supposed to get an automatic credit on our bill for the time it was out. I will be watching the next bill quite carefully.
