Thankful Sunday--February 7, 2016

I am thankful the dawn of a new day.

Every day is another day of limitless possibilities. It's a chance to enjoy the big things like telling others how much they mean to you and and a chance to enjoy the little things like Super Bowl snacks--sausage cheese dip, chicken wings, veggies and ranch dip. Are you planning to enjoy some special Super Bowl snacks today?

  1. I enjoy the quiet of morning, especially if I can take a bike ride then. So peaceful.

My husband and son will watch at least part of the Superbowl. I'm hoping I can nab the tv (we have one tv) for Downton at 9:00. Not a football fan ... and avoiding food that distracts me from my attempt to get rid of a few extra pounds!

    1. We will have the Super Bowl on some, but we don't have a lot vested in it. The snacks are some that we only have maybe once or twice a year and mostly because Ward really likes them. I just got home from work and am really tired. I'm not sure if I'll clean the veggies for the veggie and dip I was going to have or not.

Hope you get to see Downton Abbey. Do you ever record things? Someday I'm going to have to watch the show. We have the series DVDs at the library. I found out that two other people I work with have never watched it either. I thought I was the only one. Maybe we'll have a party and watch it.

  2. T minus 3 hours and counting! I've got the guacamole made, time to go whip up some green chili. I'm wearing my lucky orange underwear & socks & turtleneck... with my blue yoga pants and Broncos sweatshirt. Just hoping my boys have a good game and leave it all on the field. Go Broncos!!!!

In terms of the weight loss stuff... you could always try my technique of watching the game from a yoga mat with a set of hand weights. Seriously, it's the only way I can deal with the stress! I can always tell how close the game was by how sore I am the next day! :-)

    1. Good luck. I hope your arms aren't too sore tomorrow. Avocados were on sale at Aldi's this week and I bought some. However, they aren't ripe yet. Our guacamole with have to wait until next week sometime.

    2. I don't find that I'm all that stressed out by a Superbowl game. ;) Better for me to avoid the munchhies in the first place. Cat's sound pretty healthy, actually. June's sound more like what I traditionally think of when I think "Superbowl food" and it's hard for me to leave stuff like that alone--I keep eating and eating and eating ...

My hubby has been buying the different seasons of DA for me during the past few years for birthdays/wedding anniversaries. It's a gift I truly enjoy. I think it would be hard to hop into the series now--best to start at the beginning. I've heard it's a very good place to start ... (my inner Julie Andrews is coming out!).

  3. My daughter-in-laws birthday was Sunday so we celebrated her birthday, complete with cake (there goes the diet) the Super Bowl was watched without food for once as no one wanted to eat after the birthday dinner.

    1. A birthday dinner sounds good. We had a salad, chicken wings, and chips and dip for dinner. Sort of a dinner/snack combo.

  4. Sometimes in the middle of chaos I forget to be thankful things. Even the smallest of things can impact me in unimaginable ways, and as much as I try to be thankful in the moment, often I find myself thankful in the recollection of it.

    1. I think most of us are thankful in recollection. Living in the present is something that I am working on.
