Christmas--Part Three

Today was a great day as I continued with another of the many parts of my Christmas season this year. It was a low-key day as Ward, Wally, Theo, and I opened presents together in the morning. Then off for a hike before Wally and Theo went to Wally's apartment to do some things, and Ward and I went to spend the afternoon with some of his family. This was especially nice for me because I didn't get to see them Christmas day as I usually do.

Good conversation, good food, and a good hike made the day quite enjoyable.  And then some quiet puzzle working this evening was the perfect way to end the day. A great way to start the new year. :)

The cats had a great time while we were opening presents. They played with
paper, hid in bags, and jumped in every box before taking a bath
under the tree. Leo was trying to shred this paper.

We were lucky to have this boardwalk through much of woods where we walked. I'm not sure how we all ended up with muddy shoes.

  2. Cats are a riot when you have gift bags, boxes, and tissue paper. Who needs cat toys when you have those?

    Have a great New Year.

    1. We usually get the cats a token toy for Christmas, but we didn't this year. Like little kids, cats like the boxes that the things come in best.

Happy New Year, Kris, to you and your family.

  4. So glad you got to have a delayed Christmas with your family. Over the years I have found the actual day you celebrate doesn't matter one whiff. It is the being together and having fun that matters.

    1. When I was growing up, we often didn't celebrate Christmas on the actual day. We waited until all of the family could be there. So this is something that I'm used to. However I know for some, that the actual day is important.

  5. The unseasonable weather has allowed us to spend some time outdoors as well. what I wouldn't give to have a nature boardwalk near me. I'm glad you were able to enjoy it so early in the year.

    Happy New Years to you.

    1. Because of all of the rain we've been having, we've been looking for paved or partially paved trails. It turns out there are several in the area. Maybe there are some around you that you just haven't found yet. I hope so.

    1. We met a few joggers and dogs along the way, but it was peaceful.
