Thankful Sunday--August 16, 2015

I am thankful for family music.

At most family gatherings, Ward's siblings play music for all to enjoy. The instruments vary, but yesterday we listened to a mandolin, guitar, and bass. And for that I am thankful.

  1. That sounds fun! My husband isn't very musical, which is a bummer since I grew up in a musical family. It can add so much to a celebration to have impromptu concerts and singing.

    1. It really does add a whole new layer to a gathering. We usually don't have music playing in the background from the radio or other source, but everyone enjoys the live music.

  2. Sounds enjoyable. My wife's family are all musically inclined so pretty much anytime they get together you have at least one full rock band going to town.

Sounds like there is a lot of fun and energy when you wife's family gathers together.

  3. Music is always good. Live music is great, and home grown live music is the best!

    1. One of Ward's bothers usually spearheads the music. He wants everyone to enjoy it so he asks for song lists and tries to include something that everyone can sing along to. What's fun is when my 82 year old father-in-law and his girlfriend get up and dance.

  4. That's wonderful. I love music. When I'm down or bothered by negative thoughts or bad memories, I listen to music, or sing them away (I'm not in tune most of the time but my cats can't really say much). It works for me.

    1. I love to sing and have a hard time quieting myself in public and at work. Everything reminds me of a song. My cats are never quite sure what to think when I sing. They get right up in my face and meow. I think they're just interested in something a little different. My husband thinks I'm hurting their ears. :)
