Today...

Today, I'm going to go with the flow and embrace change.

Adjusting to change is not always easy for me in both little and big ways. Yesterday, the weather reminded me once again that change can be a good thing. It went from cloudy, to rainy, to a rainbow all in a matter of minutes. Each stage was spectacular to see.

Cloudy

Rainy

Rainbow

  1. We have had several days of the sun shining while it was snowing. My mom told me she was looking for the rainbow but I think the rainbow was too cold and broke! :) I have a geeky fascination with weather (in case you haven't already figured that out!!!!). It's amazing to me when the weather changes substantially in the same day ... or when the weather is completely different 10 or 20 miles away.

Neat pictures--what's in the tree in the first picture? Oh, wait, I see it in the second one as well--must be a squirrel's nest.

    1. Yes, that's a squirrel's nest. I like to follow the weather also even though I don't understand it very well.

    2. My son picked up on our weather fascination when he was little--he asked to be a weatherman for Halloween when he was 4 years old. I found a sportcoat for him at Goodwill and made a badge similar to what the man from our weather station wears on the news. I'm pretty sure there aren't very many kids out there who want to be a meteorologist for Halloween.

    3. If my kids were about ten years younger and lived closer to you, I think they would have been great friends with your son. They never wanted to dress up as a weatherman (way too cute), but Wally did watch the weather channel a lot and wanted to take pictures of weather in our area to send to them. This was before sending a picture of the internet was almost as easy as sneezing as it is these days. So I think he took pictures of some hail damage and sent them by snail mail.

  2. I know it might be a little silly to believe but rainbows are always a sign of something good for me. When I feel especially gloomy and then look up and see a beautiful rainbow, I know everything will be alright!

    1. I don't think that it's silly. Rainbows are indeed special and inspire hope in everyone. Noah is an example of that from very long ago.

  3. Embracing change... that's one I need to work on too. Your pictures reminded me of watching the local weather this evening. The weatherman said something like "And in the forecast we have rain, snow and temperatures in the 70's - a typical spring forecast." It's nice to have a weatherman with a sense of humor. :-)

    1. I think of all of the seasons we have here, spring has the most daily change. Makes it hard to figure out what to wear when you leave the house in the morning.
