Thankful Sunday, March 2, 2014

I am thankful for my brother-in-law.

Ward's little sister has been seriously ill for the last year, and unfortunately none of her extended family lives close by. We are all thankful for her husband who has been her rock, her encouragement, and her sunshine. He makes her smile during these difficult times. Sometimes it is with a silly pun or sometimes it is with a waltz he wrote for her. When Ward and others can't be there, we are all eternally grateful for my brother-in-law who is.

  1. What a nice thing to say. I'm sure Ward's b-i-l will appreciate it. Sorry his sister has been ill.

    1. She (and he) have been remarkable as she faces this life threatening illness. They are both an inspiration to me.

    1. They say that they are each others love of their life. I know their faces light up when the other one enters the room.

  3. I think you mentioned a while back that you had a family member dealing with serious illness. I've heard that serious illness either brings out the best in a person, or the worst. It looks like in your family's case, it is bringing out the very best. I'm so sorry that your family is facing so many struggles.

    1. Sometimes, it feels like there's no where to turn because my family is dealing with so many serious issues right now. But on the other hand, there is everywhere to turn because there are so many good things happening in these difficult situations.

    1. Besides making each other feel better, they make us feel better too. Often they have to give us very serious news, but they always put it in a positive context. This is truly a gift.
