Thankful Sunday--November 24, 2013

I am thankful for National Public Radio.

Yesterday we were out and about visiting. During the morning ride, we listened to Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me and during the evening ride we listened to Prairie Home Companion. Just what we needed to enjoyably pass the time after Ward and I exhausted our topics of conversation for the day. Actually, we've been married long enough, sometimes we don't need to talk. Just being together is enough. For that I am thankful. And when there is no need for conversation, I am thankful for NPR radio.

Trivia:
My nephew works on another NPR show called From the Top. This show showcases amazing young musicians from around the country. He is an amazing young musician himself. Listen sometime to the music between segments. That's some of his handiwork.

  1. I also like NPR. :) We are a PBS-viewing family. We don't have cable and I find that the quality of PBS programming is much better than most cable programming.

Impressive that your nephew does some of the NPR music. My hubby was featured on NPR once--he's a fisheries biologist. Kinda fun to brag on him. :)

    1. We do have cable and a lot of the programming isn't very good. However, some of it is. You just have to learn to pick and chose. And I think you like most TV shows better after you get to know them and what to expect either with the characters or the information you expect. That way they become comfortable and more enjoyable that a random viewing.

  2. We're also very thankful for NPR and get really bummed when we're driving somewhere that we can't pick up a local station.

  3. We did have some static on Saturday, but enough to give up on the programs.
