Also, the mushrooms and fungi are more common now. I don't know why that's a fall thing, but I noticed them more in the fall last year also. Now that I've done the Second Look for over year now, I'm starting to notice cycles that I've never noticed before. And I guess that's not really important in the grand scheme of things, except it makes me happy to figure this out. As I have mentioned before, "Sometimes it is the small stuff..."

Our sedum is also about to bloom. I leave the tall flower stalks all winter. I think they add form to the garden. Do you leave yours or cut them down?
ReplyDeleteWhat's interesting about this time of year is that while the autumn flowers are just now beginning, I still have summer roses and lilies in bloom.
I leave the sedum up and most things that will look decent. However, I do try to do some cleanup so I am not overwhelmed by things next spring.
