Food Waste Friday--February 3, 2012

It's time for Food Waste Friday, when the Frugalgirl encourages us to post pictures from the previous week of wasted food from our household. This accountability hopefully will help us to be more careful with our food and maybe save some money.

Here it goes for this week.

We tried a new brand of yogurt this week and I just didn't like it. I was going to add it to a smoothie, but as you can see that didn't happen. On the other hand, we had an entire supper of leftovers last night of food rescued from our refrigerator's black hole--a big save.

Also, last week I asked for help in using up tahini and got some very good suggestions. Thanks. With research, I learned that tahini essentially lasts forever (especially when stored in the fridge) and you will be able to tell when it goes bad. Good to know.

  1. Too soggy with cheap salsa out of a bottle, runny cream and not enough cheese. LOL

  2. There's no use trying to save something that you just don't like to eat, is there. So glad that the Crystal Gayle song was a happy thing and not annoying :0)

  5. Pretty great! It's always so disappointing to branch out and try something new...and then not like it, isn't it???
